Chaffin Girls Summer 2013

Lots has happened this summer.  We added an addition to our family on the 26th of May after I spent 5 days previous in the hospital.  Scarlett Elise Chaffin was due to arrive July 28th, but came 2 months and 2 days early.  She was 3 pounds and 16 3/4 inches long.  Due to her being premature, she spent 5 1/2 weeks in the NICU in Provo, Utah.  We gladly brought her home on July 4, 2013.  During those almost 2 months of hanging out in the NICU, Emme participated in swimming lessons and also had a dance class that ended with a concert where she was a lion and penguin. We got to enjoy grandparents and aunts helping us and visiting.  The pictures below are a few highlights from this very eventful SUMMER!  We love our girls!

Starting her out young and on the right foot, just like her big sis!

One of our NICU nurses made molds of Scarlett's hands and made these for us!  Such a sweet and tiny  present to treasure.

This just proves how much Emme loves the water.  She's Ariel all the way!!

Emme and I also participated in a church "talent" show just recently and sang a little excerpt from Annie Get Your Gun.  The song was "Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better".  Enjoy the clip!

Emme's 3rd BIRTHDAY!

Our baby turned 3 just this past Monday, October 8th.  We had family in for the weekend to party and such.  Then on Tuesday, we did a big friends party.  Much fun, lots of work (with much help from my sis and best friend Becky--Thank you ladies!!!!!), and exhausting.  However, I keep getting told lots of kids are still talking about the Castle and Roller Coaster.
(Picutres are compliments of Dano! --Thanks!)

Told us she would be brave while blowing out her candles.  She did a great job!

Somersaulting up a hill.

The best face ever on opening up a gift she had been wanting for about 2 months.

She's a character!  Got to love it!

Updates Galore

It's been far too long since the last Chaffin extravaganza has been documented. So much has happened and summer simply flew by!! We've been keeping busy between Casey working for inContact, (which he loves) me working several hours a week and playing the character of Meg in the musical "Little Women,"  and Emme growing like a weed! She certainly has her own personality and definitely has an attitude to go along with those cute curls.

This past weekend was very busy and very fun. Grandma and Grandpa Chaffin (John and Deb) came down from Montana to see me in the premier of "Little Women the Musical." As I mentioned, I play Meg, the oldest of the sisters. Casey brought Emme and she loved it, well, at least the first act. She loved looking at all of the lights and got very excited when she recognized me on stage. She also got very concerned when I went off stage, but Dane and Jordan, who were sitting next to Casey, assured Emme that I was just "changing clothes." Each time I would go off stage Emme would say "Mama change clothes?" Super cute!

On Saturday we threw a joint birthday get together for Jacob Grover and Emme. We invited their nursery friends and made it a "Curious George" themed birthday party, with George hats, cupcakes, a George Pinata, and even watched a couple episodes of the TV show, too.

The life of the party, however, were two very large beach balls that took forever to blow up. Casey looked a little faint after finally getting one of them blown all the way up. The kids absolutely loved rolling them around and crashing them into the other beach balls.

The kids had a blast and so did the parents. Enjoy some of the videos and pictures below! And we promise, we'll do better on updating this blog! Love you all!

Casey's First Day at his "BIG BOY" Job!

Casey just started his new job with InContact aftering graduating BYU this past spring.  He started June 12, 2011.  We're very excited and I needed to catch a grin from the employed man on his way to work!  Congratulations babe!
